Sevenhill are blessed to have lovely clay loam soils on which Merlot thrives and from which it acquires both its silky smooth texture and benchmark violet perfume. The wine was aged for almost two years in oak prior to bottling which adds vanilla and smoky spice to the rich, plummy fruits.

Deeply coloured; an extremely powerful and rich full-bodied wine; it speaks volumes about the region and the vintage, but little about merlot; if you dismiss merlot per se, this is a wine that will repay extended cellaring.
