2012 Coho Cabernet Sauvignon Old Poodle Dog

Scores: CT:89.5 JR:16 AVG: 84

Sorry, this product is sold out.

Coho Wines was founded in 2002 and makes lovely wines grown from selected cool-climate vineyards. The "Old Poodle Dog" was one of San Francisco's finest pre-prohibition restaurants and this new Napa Cab is named in honour of the restaurant, whose owner would rather close the restaurant down than serve wine without food. As well as 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has 20% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, making it in our opinion more like a fine Bordeaux, though of course with that bold Napa edge.

As this vintage is out of stock, we would be happy to suggest an alternative if you contact us by email or phone.

42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 24% Malbec, 8% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Intense coffee, chocolate, blueberry and menthol with smoke on the nose. Big with a grippy feel and fresh acidity. Similar bright flavours on the palate, and on the long intense finish. Nice balance and well made in a very forward style. (MD)
