2011 Lealtanza Rioja Crianza Magnum
$660.00
What could be better than serving your guests from magnums of this lovely Rioja! Bodegas Altanza's goal has always been to offer the best possible quality wine at a sensible price. As a relatively young Rioja winery, they combine tradition with modern production methods, ensuring that their wines are of consistently good quality. The Crianza is the youngest of their wines and is aged for 12 months. It is lively, clean and poised, with elegant aromas of spicy fruit on the nose and a powerful and fleshy palate. It is a great value Rioja, which is begging to be tried.

(all tempranillo, aged in French oak for a year): Inky ruby. Cherry, plum and licorice on the pungent nose. Fleshy and a touch warm, offering ripe dark fruit flavors plus notes of mocha and fruitcake. A minty note adds bite to the finish, which is shaped by gentle, slow-building tannins.
