James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion
Estate-grown, and matured for 18 months in French oak; the strong purple-crimson colour and rich, cassis-laden bouquet is followed buy a deeply flavoured, medium- to full-bodied palate, fruit dominant, but with noticeable tannins and good quality oak. Special. Closure: Screwcap. 14% alcohol. AUD$28
, Dec 2012, 90+
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon offers pronounced aromas of crushed blackberries, black currant and cedar with nuances of cloves, menthol and bay leaf. Medium to full-bodied, it reveals concentrated, muscular black fruits in the mouth supported by a medium level of grainy tannins, refreshing acid and finishing long with some mint coming through. Delicious now, it should cellar to 2019+.
