When you first smell this wine it seems quite quiet and restrained and then you take a sip and it just bursts onto the palate, showing an altogether flashier side. The fruit is positively robust and it marries nicely with the tannins and mineral notes. Very good indeed.

A pretty blend of somber dark berry fruit and warm earth aromas cut with wet stone notes complement the detailed and attractively fresh flavors that are notably rich, full and succulent with a rounded mouth feel and good detail on the relatively fine and minerally finish. Lovely and worth a look as this is a distinguished Mercurey.
