d'Angludet is a top-quality Cru Bourgeois estate, located in the appellation of Margaux. It was bought by the Sichel family back in 1961 and they are still the owners today. Few would dispute that it is the Sichel's commitment to d'Angludet that is at the core of its reputation today.

I finally worked my way through all the bottles I purchased of this wine, and I did not enjoy any of them. The last bottle confirmed what all the others had suggested - this is a wine with excessive tannin, not enough fruit, and a hollow, emaciated style. The color is a dark garnet with some rust at the edge. The nose displays some promise with earthy incense and roasted herb aromas, but in the mouth, the coarse, mouthsearing tannin obliterates what fruit remains. This wine will only dry out over subsequent years. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted 10/97
