This Champagne house has five centuries of experience to fall back on, having been established in the 1600s. Here the grapes from each plot are vinified separately, which allows the wine makers to identify and make the best of each site’s finest characteristics.
The final Champagne is elegant and aromatic with light toasted brioche notes and flavours baked green apples, roasted hazelnuts and sweet spice. A finely textured Champagne with real poise.

A pretty and elegant mix of citrus, floral, lemon zest and soft yeast aromas. There is good vibrancy and detail to the moderately complex and attractively dry middle weight flavors that offer reasonably good length. I like this but it lacks just a bit of depth but I do like the clean and focused finish. This could be enjoyed now or held for a few years first.

(43% pinot meunier, 32% pinot noir and 25% chardonnay; 65% of the fruit was from 2010 and the rest from 2009 and 2008; disgorged in July, 2013 after 30 months on its lees): Pale onion skin color. Aromas of fresh pear, lemongrass and lime zest, with a hint of jasmine. Juicy and penetrating, with tangy citrus and orchard fruit and flavors underscored by a note of chalky minerality. Finishes clean and racy, with lingering floral and gingery spice qualities.
50% Meunier, 40%
Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay. 6 g/l dosage. From 2008 and 2009. This wine is from
the early ripening vineyards of Cumières so no malolactic fermentation. Very
pale. Very fruity and bumptious. Masses of personality. Neat, dry finish.

Geoffroy’s NV Brut Premier Cru Expression is totally alive in the glass. Vibrant and delineated, the Expression bursts from glass with dried pears, flowers, almonds and Chamomile. A blend of 47% Pinot Meunier, 40% Pinot Noir and 13% Chardonnay, the Expression is all about texture and volume from the red grapes, which give tons of richness without detracting from the wine’s essential energy, tension and pure drive. A crystalline, layered finish rounds things out beautifully. This is a great showing from a wine loaded with class. Disgorgement date: April 2012. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.

Floral notes mix with flavors of ripe apple, peach, grapefruit zest and biscuit in this lightly chalky, firmly structured Champagne. A hint of smoke shows on the open-knit finish. Disgorged July 2011. Best after 2013. 168 cases imported.
