Wines for Dragon Boat Festival
As the Dragon Boat Festival is coming, people would enjoy their time together to celebrate the traditional festival. How could this big festival without good wines? No worries. We will introduce some as below.
- Champagne: Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut NV. Perrier-Jouët is always a popular wine. It is lively and fruity with lovely fine bubbles. The floral scents on the nose are given prominence by the floral design on the label. On the palate it is rich and velvety with a long finish. And Taittinger Prestige Rosé NV is a great wine for an aperitif or for drinking with desert.
- White: 2014 Luigi Bosca Finca Los Nobles Chardonnay. It's smooth and balanced acidity, complex, long and deep end. 2014 De Stefani Pinot Grigio. There are spicy notes of white pepper on the palate. Great mineral undertones and excellent balance! Food pairing: Hors d'oeuvres, fish dishes, grilled chicken.
- Red: 2011 Clos du Caillou CDR Bouquet des Garrigues, from Clos du Cailllou Rhone France is Abbelio Wines's first organic wine. 2009 Sevenhill Brother John May SJ Reserve Shiraz, Brother May has been at Sevenhill since 1963 and the fruit for this wine is handpicked from a single block of high-quality, low yielding Shiraz vines which were planted by Brother May shortly after his arrival at Sevenhill Cellars.
