Wine Label: with or without Grape Variety?

Sometimes you will note some wine labels show grape variety, while some do not.

Most of new world wine labels include grapes, which make more convenient for consumers to have clearer ideas. Instead, old world wines indicate country of origin, which is a tradition and also pride.

European countries Appellation law regulates certain grapes of production area should obey specific methods to make wines. It’s called AOC/AOP in France, DOC/DOCG in Italy, DOC/DOCa, DO in Spain. 

However, some new world wine country has their own, like AVA in USA.
