Herbicide Prohibition in Prosecco DOCG Wine Region

Posted on June 28, 2019 by Abbelio Wines | 0 comments

According to the 11 June news of England wine and liquor official website Harpers, Italian Prosecco DOCG has prohibited herbicide in vineyard, which makes the quality Conegliano Valdobbiadene wine region the largest one to ban herbicide over all European wine regions. Thanks to the region unions and 15 local councils’ research and discussion many years.

The chairman Innocente Nardi of region unions claims that herbicide ban would encourage us to make continuous and replaceable suggestions to managements from vineyards, e.g. weeding by machine. The demand is increasing.

In the meanwhile, the region is setting up an independent National Quality Integrated Manufacturing System.
