Classifications of Wine Quality
There’re so many varieties of wines all over the world. Thus those main wine production countries set up levels of local wines in order to be convenient for consumers to choose.
Very famous wine productions countries are in Europe; therefore European Union sets up two levels for their wines, high quality wine QWPSR (Quality Wines Produced in a Special Region) and TW (Table Wine).
Theoretically, high quality wine production areas have their own special features, whose styles and tastes couldn’t be duplicated, due to their unique soil in vineyards, grape varieties, planting methods and wine-production technologies.
The below is the list of classifications of wine quality in five main wine production countries.
QWPSR: AOC, VDQS
TW: VDP, VDT
QWPSR: QmP, QbA
TW: DL, DT
TW: IGT, VT
TW: VT, VM
TW: VR, VM
