Choose Wine Glasses for a Wine
There are many styles of wineglasses for different purposes and types of wine. Choose correct wine glass can enhance the enjoyment of wine greatly.
- Choose smaller and narrower wineglasses for white wine and larger glasses for red wine. The reason is that white wine should not warm up too much before it is consumed. For red wine glasses, the wider, the better, to allow for a third fill and to catch all the aromas.
- Choose tulip-shaped glasses for sparkling wines and champagne. This shape allows for maximum concentration of champagne's delicate bouquet. It also enhances visual appeal of champagne to see the bubbles rising to the top in a long and slender flute.
Avoid using the Champagne saucer for champagne; it causes both bubbles and bouquet to disappear immediately.
